How To Find Your Mac Address In Windows XP

A Media Access Control Address (MAC address) is the equivalent to the serial number of a network card. Each MAC address is unique, and so it identifies the network card you have installed in your computer. If assigned by the manufacturer, a MAC address usually encodes the manufacturer's registered identification number.

Step 1: From the start menu on your desktop, click Run

Step 2: In the Run window, type in command then click the OK button.

Step 3: In the command window type in ' ipconfig /all ' and press the Enter key. (type without the quotes)

ipallconfig

Step 4: you can find your MAC address next to the label Physical Address as shown in the image below.

You have found your MAC address. Close the various dialog box, windows and whatnot.

  1. We can also use another command to find MAC address, "getmac" .
